Installation of a TV over the Bioethanol Fire

Installing a TV above a bioethanol fireplace is a highly requested setup among end customers. It adds a stylish touch to the interior while allowing users to enjoy the flames alongside their favourite TV entertainment.

This guide is intended for resellers working with customers who are building their own fireplace solution and purchasing only the bioethanol burner or a built-in bioethanol fireplace.

To ensure that heat does not affect the TV or surrounding materials, we recommend informing your customers about the safety guidelines and installation options shown in the five examples below.

Option 1 - Recessed TV Above Your Bioethanol Fireplace

For customers choosing installation option 1, we recommend recessing the TV into the wall by 10 cm. This setback helps protect the TV from direct heat exposure, improving overall safety and prolonging the unit’s lifespan.

There must be a minimum clearance of 60 cm between the bottom edge of the fireplace and the bottom of the TV.

We also advise using heat-resistant materials – such as cement boards – around the fireplace to ensure the surrounding wall is shielded from the heat produced by the bioethanol flame.

Option 2 - TV Flushed with Wall Above Bioethanol Fireplace

For installation option 2, the TV should be recessed so that it aligns perfectly with both the wall surface and the front of the bioethanol fireplace. This creates a clean, integrated appearance while ensuring adequate heat clearance.

There must be a minimum gap of 80 cm between the base of the fireplace and the bottom edge of the TV.

To protect the media wall, we recommend using heat-resistant construction materials such as cement boards around the fireplace area, helping to insulate the wall from the heat produced by the flames.

Option 3 - TV over Your Bioethanol Fireplace with Heat Deflector

In installation option 3, the TV is mounted directly onto the wall above the bioethanol fireplace.

To protect the TV from rising heat, a 2 cm heat deflector must be installed at the top edge of the fireplace enclosure. It is essential to keep a minimum clearance of 15 cm between the top of the fireplace and the bottom edge of the TV.

We strongly recommend surrounding the fireplace with heat-resistant materials such as cement boards to provide insulation and protect the wall from the heat generated by the flame.

Option 4 - TV Above Bioethanol Fireplace with Fireproof Shelf Between

For installation option 4, the TV is mounted directly onto the wall above the bioethanol fireplace.

To ensure safety, there must be a minimum distance of 60 cm between the bottom of the fireplace and the bottom edge of the TV.

A fireproof shelf should be installed between the fireplace and the TV. This acts as a heat barrier and helps deflect rising warmth away from the television. It is essential that the shelf is made from heat-resistant materials.

We also recommend surrounding the fireplace with heat-resistant materials such as cement boards to protect the wall from heat exposure caused by the bioethanol flame.

Option 5 - TV over Your Bioethanol Fireplace

For installation option 5, the TV is mounted directly onto the wall above the bioethanol fireplace.

The TV must not extend more than 10 cm from the wall. To ensure adequate protection from heat, there must be a minimum clearance of 100 cm between the bottom edge of the TV and the top of the fireplace.

We recommend using heat-resistant materials such as cement boards around the fireplace to protect the wall from the heat generated by the bioethanol flame.
